EV Zug women’s team (SUI) and IFK Helsinki women’s team (FIN) are going towards a new era in women’s hockey. The clubs are starting their cooperation with a camp in Zug 16 – 19 November. During the camp the teams are practicing together, playing a game and having a seminar with sharing knowledge between the clubs.

We at HIFK want to be pioneers and setting the standard both in women’s and men’s hockey, says HIFK’s CEO Markus Lindström, expressing excitement about the collaboration. – In HIFK, women have played their entire Liiga journey in Finland’s best condition. This partnership with EV Zug enables closing the gap with international excellence. We hope this collaboration will be rewarding and long-lasting for both organizations.

– In addition to being a fantastic opportunity for our team to bond, I see this as a great way for cooperation between two powerhouse organizations in Europe, says head coach Saara Niemi. We constantly aim to improve our operations, it’s great to challenge ourselves against a top team in Europe.

– The international competition is enormously important, both for our men’s and the women’s team. On the international stage, you see where you really stand and can develop further, says EV Zug CEO Patrick Lengwiler. With HIFK, we not only compete on the ice, but also in management with one of the best organizations in Europe – and we can only benefit from each other off and on the ice!

– Our team is looking forward enormously to the encounter with HIFK, says EVZ head coach Daniela Diaz. For our young team, the game against the reigning Finnish champions will be a challenge, for us as an organization it is a great opportunity: we both pursue the same goal, we want to advance women’s ice hockey.
